Far Harbor is not a nice place. The people of the city do not trust us. Monstrous creatures await us around every corner. Even the same island can kill us. “Nothing like touring the Commonwealth and perhaps run into some bags of radiation , “ warns the chief producer Phil Nelson. “The island isradiation.”
However, in the latest additional content Fallout 4 will find many more things than hostile inhabitants and radiation. Besides being one of the largest land for additional content that Bethesda Game Studios has ever created, the island hosts a lot of mysteries for us. Discover new creatures, we can build with new equipment, as we seek the truth that lies behind the current conflict on the island.
Welcome to Far Harbor
Humans who made their home in the fishing town of Far Harbor, located on the coast, are the hardest and reserved encontrenis group so far. “Maine has a very rugged and rocky terrain, and a spectacular coastline,” says artistic director Matt Carofano.
Everyone has a sympathetic side, and a side that’s not-so-sympathetic, and you have to decide where you’re going to land. We wanted to include a ton of different options. Is it possible to go through with no one dying? Can you just decide to destroy everyone? Can you bring certain people to justice and drag out certain truths? Is it worth exposing this person if it means all these other people are going to be hurt? We give you a lot of tools and information that affects all groups, and then you have the ability to decide what you’re going to do with it.”You may find yourself going down one path, and changing your mind once you have more information. There are very few hard-stop decisions, unless you choose to start killing folks. (Death is a pretty final choice, after all.) But even within the huge decision moments, there are lots of ways to handle a situation – some more peaceful than others.
Go big or home
This is the most extensive grounds Bethesda Game Studios has ever created for additional content and very specific team had to decide to go big reasons.
“At first, I did a test on a smaller island, and there was something wrong with this scale,” explains Carofano. “When I studied the scope of Bar Harbor, Maine, in the real world, and the rugged terrain presents, with the coast and the mountains, he did not fit in a small-scale environment. We wanted to make the island was so great that it could include those geographic features and make it an amazing place to explore. “
The varied environments of the island will not allow anything other than a huge space. In place of the dense urban setting of the Commonwealth, we find a more mysterious and wild nature, which could be straight out of a horror novel that took place in the US northeast. Inspired by the royal town of Bar Harbor. Far Harbor is a small fishing town, surrounded by what was once a beautiful national park. Before the war, it would have been an ideal tourist spot.
Again, all new
The new scenario provides several different environments, from the rocky shores, through the forest of dead trees to the top of the mountains. And a new location requires that everything is new and different.Bethesda Game Studios was not content merely to what the basic game has to offer. He wanted new creatures, weapons, armor, puzzles, extras and even new building options. Everything has been designed keeping in mind the wild island and the raging sea.
“We examined our basic creatures and created some inspired by the new location new, that are more challenging and even in worse condition because of all that radiation,” said Carofano.
In devising concepts for new creatures, the team was inspired by the waters surrounding the island. We have the crawler of the Mist, higher behemoth, a bloodthirsty, which has two large claws. There is also the monkfish, an amphibious monster that lurks beneath the surface of the water and has a lure that looks like a common flower island. And tragador a salamander-like creature that appears in different sizes.
With new animals to fight, you’ll want new equipment. Far Harbor will find a rifle lever, a harpoon gun inspired whaling, new melee weapons shaped hook for meat and fish, and rifle radio, a submachine gun carried by the Children of the Atom and radioactive shoots bullets.
We will also have access to marine armor, which is even stronger than armor combat. “It is the highest level of armor in the game and has some great variants,” says Nelson. “Children of the Atom even have a version that takes their registered marks in it.” It is also a great option for players who have not invested in a power armor but still want to have a good protection.
As will visit Far Harbor, we may even find you with a new partner, although fans of Nick may want to continue the journey with the intrepid detective synth. “If you like Nick,” says Nelson, “you will discover things about their history, especially if you take it with you when talking to people.”
We can find our new partner Longfellow in a local bar and, like everyone else in Far Harbor, it is not terribly pleasant. “Longfellow resembles the character of Quint in Jaws , ” says Nelson. ” We appear s on the island and goes to Longfellow, because nobody knows better than him. It’s the old typical whiny and tanning. The first thing is to release to you face are not ready for the island.“
Ready or not, once you get to Far Harbor, Fallout find a scenario different from everyone else. Far Harbor is the additional largest content from Bethesda Game Studios to date, not just on the surface: we will see crowded wild scene of danger and hostile population will force us to make many difficult decisions. Far Harbor will take us on a journey that has little to do with the Commonwealth.
